About Us
Handmade In The North has it's roots in 2014 when it was a small woodworking business under the name of Handmade In Rossendale. In 2019 Handmade In Rossendale was relaunched with a new owner, a host of new products and a stall at Rawtenstall Market, Rossendale, Lancashire. The business has gone from strength to strength, winning business awards and expanding to become Handmade In The North. In October 2022 we opened our first shop in the Grade II Listed Imperial Arcade, Huddersfield. We have a focus on social history, reusing and recycling wherever possible, minimising waste, using natural materials and being plastic free whenever we can. Flowers at Handmade in Huddersfield is our latest project bringing fairly priced, locally sourced flowers to Huddersfield. Our florist, Ruth has decades of experience in floristry. Our flowers have built a reputation for being extremely long lasting and great value. We are pleased to now be able to offer wedding flowers, funeral flowers and event flowers in a pocket friendly, planet friendly way.

Handmade In The North currently has two outlets. Handmade in Huddersfield is based in the Grade II listed Imperial Arcade in Huddersfield's town centre. the award winning Handmade in Rossendale, formally situated in Rawtenstall Market, now appears at pop up markets and craft fairs around the valley.
Handmade In Huddersfield
Handmade In Huddersfield is our second branch, it is home to Flowers at Handmade which is our dedicated floristry departmen. We are located in Imperial Arcade in the town center with parking availiable at the nearby bus station.
We make wooden items in house and produce pen and ink drawings. Our art focuses on the industrial and social history of Huddersfield and the Colne Valley. Our shop is also home to many other local artists, crafters, makers and creators. We have candles and wax melts, pottery, jewellery, leather goods and much more - all produced by hand by people here in Huddersfield.
Handmade In Rossendale
Handmade In Rossendale is where it all began. We were based in The Market Hall at Rawtenstall Market for almost five years. We now attend craft markets around the valley. We make everything from bookmarks to beds! Our furniture is unique and built to last, our art reflects the history of the valley and many of our gifts can be personalised.
